People of Gaza - Eternal Victim

People of Gaza: Awaiting the End of The Truce.

No matter who starts the fight, the same people shoulder the burden all the time.

May God bless the People of Gaza, and protect them from their own leaders and from Israel

  1. Is there any way a person can help a family in Gaza without the risk of the CIA and IRS show up at the doorstep with questions then later finding oneself on the no-fly list? Please pardon my paranoia, but I did learn a little in the past 8 years.

  2. To anonymous:
I totally understand your concern, and I do not think it is paranoia. My approach is to use established American-based or international western-based charities. At least, that offers some degree of protection against charges of illicit aiding and abetting the enemy.
    My only suggestions are:
Islamic relief fund as they have different 'campaingns', one of them would likely suit your taste. for example:
    http://www.irw.org/campaigns/palestinecrisis
is dedicated to Palestine Humanitarian Crisis.
Another option is the international committee of the Red Cross and red crescent (http://www.ifrc.org/index.asp?navid=01) as you can specify where to send the money. Just go to the Donation page (http://donate.ifrc.org/) then in the select where the funds go to.
Also, you can donate to the Palestinian red crescent (http://www.ifrc.org/address/ps.asp).
I know this is not as direct as you may want to , but it goes into the pool, and eventually gets to someone there.
If other readers have any ideas, please share them with us.

  3. I don't know what organizations, if any, Egypt is allowing into Gaza. So the best way to get aid to them Right Now is through those organizations that Israel is currently allowing to supply aid. They include the UNRWA, WFP, ICRC, WHO, UNCEF, MDM and MSF. I agree with Khaled that the International Red Cross/Red Crescent is a very good way to help right now.

(I got the list of organizations from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs' recent posting at
    http://www.mfa.gov.il/MFA/Terrorism-+Obstacle+to+Peace/Hamas+war+against+Israel/Humanitarian_aid_to_Gaza_following_6_month_calm.htm)
